About The Dyer Family

Hi everyone, so glad you came.
While going through this tree I was so excited to find ancestors that I have never known. It
was so much fun to imagine who they were, what their lives were about. I hope you enjoy your
family here as much as I did :)
To fill you in a bit, Jim Dyer got us back to 1677 with Elizabeth Apperly married to John Dyer,
they came over from England and as far as I could tell were both originally from England so at
this point our ancestors are English. I found the Dyer Crest and it is from England also.
It was drawn up in the late 1500's as far as I could tell from info at the site I found it in.
If I find later that we originate from another land I'll let you know here in updates below.
Also Jim got us to the Cherokee Ancestry we've all been wondering about and trying to find info on. I sat one day and determined to find it thru anything he had written anywhere and I found her. Her name is Elizabeth Carter and was married to our many times back grandfather, Jehiel Dyer. She was full blooded Cherokee, I've heard from several people a Princess as her father was the Chief. So a little royalty maybe. I read also that because most bloodlines are thinned to the point of no recognition that if we can prove a line, we can be considered Cherokee fully. I'm contacting the Tribal Chief to see what to do so we can be pulled in to the Cherokee Nation. I'm very excited that we are finally getting to know our heritage. I will fill you in as I get the info.
If I find them later then we could originate from another land.
I am still searching for more answers as are a couple more of the cousins.
Also, If you find someone and you want to know how you are related to them, go to the bottom of
the page and click on the 'Relationship Tool' type in their name and your name and it will show
you how the 2 of you are related! Take some time and have a blast here. If you need to update your info (adding kids, grandkids etc.) send a message to my personal email @ rayhvyn@yahoo.com or better yet, throw me a FB text.
Please add your name and how your related and to whom you are related so I can get you in the right tree.
Love you all, Gina

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
